The ADASS newsgroup hierarchy was established to not only provide a place
outside the mainstream news groups for IRAF discussions, but as the name
implies, for discussion of any astronomical data analysis software. The
IRAF Project will archive all articles submitted, sites desiring a local
feed should contact news@iraf.noao.edu.
A keyword search of the archive is permitted.
On-Line subscription to a mailing list of the
newsgroups is also available.
Users may post-to or read-via-email-subscription these newsgroups,
please consult to IRAF Listserver Web
page for details. If your browser supports it, you may also post or
read the groups by clicking on the links below.
If these links do not work, perhaps your default NNTP server
does not have access to the adass news groups. Try specifying:
setenv NNTPSERVER iraf.noao.edu
before entering your web client, or by adjusting the news options in
your browser.
Netscape
users should select "Preferences" from the Options menu, then in
the Preferences screen select "Mail and News", and enter iraf.noao.edu for
the News (NNTP) Server.
Watch out that the above doesn't clobber any existing ".newsrc" file.
Posting Messages/Questions
Messages or questions may be posted to any of the ADASS newsgroups by
sending mail to the "dashed" form of the newsgroup/list name. For example.
% mail adass-iraf-applications@iraf.noao.edu
....body of message
% mail adass-iraf-system@iraf.noao.edu
....body of message
Messages should be sent individually to each group to avoid possibles
problems with cross-postings. Questions may also be send to
iraf@noao.edu to contact the main technical support line if a more
immediate response is required.

for the listserver, rather than the "dotted" form. Multiple

tp unsubscribe fails please just contact the person mentioned in the
