Announcement ADS NODE WORKING GROUP MEETING ADS USERS MEETING Thursday-Friday, November 5-6, 1992 Park Plaza Hotel, Boston, MA Dear Astrophysics Data System User/Node supporter, We will hold the ADS Node Working Group meeting on Thursday, November 5, and the ADS User meeting on Friday, November 6. Both meetings will be at The Boston Park Plaza Hotel & Towers in Boston, Massachusetts following the ADASS '92 meeting being held November 2-4, 1992. The timing of this meeting will allow us to introduce the ADS 3.0 release, which will debut a 'point and shoot' X/Motif Graphical User Interface. Those of you who attended the last meeting may recall that we plan to hold these every six months to: a) receive the input and comments of the ADS user community, and b) inform the user community of recent and upcoming improvements to ADS. In order to better meet the divergent needs of different kinds of ADS users we plan to hold 2 back-to-back separate meetings. In the first we will turn to the desires and problems of the suppliers of data and discuss the underlying technology / operability / coordinations issues; in the second we will focus on the interests of scientists eager to retrieve data or receive services through the ADS. This is very much YOUR system and these meetings are meant as working group forums for the exchange of ideas and for planning. The node meeting will have a strong technical/operational flavor and we expect (and encourage) lively interaction throughout. Please note the following: 1. Please fill out the ADS registration form available via anonymous ftp (sao-ftp.harvard.edu or 128.103.42.3) in the pub/softconf directory (get the file "ADS_registration") 2.
