Third Annual Conference on Astronomical Data Analysis Software and Systems October 13-15, 1993 Victoria, B.C. CANADA Dear Colleague, The proceedings of the Third Annual Conference on Astronomical Data Analysis Software and Systems will be published as part of the Astronomical Society of the Pacific Conference Series. So that the published volume remains a manageable size it will be necessary to enforce strict page limits: invited papers will be limited to 10 pages while contributed oral talks and poster papers will be limited to 4 pages. All papers must include abstracts. The text of the paper in LaTeX and any Encapsulated PostScript graphics files should be deposited by anonymous ftp to the node ftp.dao.nrc.ca in the directory pub/adass/papers. One hard copy of the paper, complete with graphics, and copies of any illustrations at production size that were not provided electronically should be sent to us by regular mail (Dennis Crabtree, DAO, 5071 W. Saanich Rd., Victoria, B.C., CANADA V8X 4M6). At least six keywords appropriate for your paper should be included with the electronic copy. The deadline for receiving the electronic copy is *November 12m 1993*. The deadline for receiving the hard copy plus illustrations is *November 19, 1993*. If we receive manuscripts after that date we can not guarantee that they will be included in the published proceedings. Deposit the LaTeX copy of your manuscript along with any computer graphics in EPS format in the directory pub/adass/papers on the node ftp.dao.nrc.ca. Identify the LaTeX copy by using the last name plus the first name initial of the first author, e.g., hanischr.tex. Any EPS files should be identified in a similar way, e.g., hanischr1.eps, hanischr2.eps. Authors with multiple papers will need to indicate this as well, e.g., crabtreed1.tex, crabtreed1_1.eps. (Alternatively, files can be sent by email to softconf@dao.nrc.ca.) Electronic markup (LaTeX) and submission instructions are available by anonymous ftp from the node "ftp.dao.nrc.ca" in the directory pub/adass/proceedings/. A README file contains information about the contents of the directory and directions for preparing your paper. As with past Proceedings, we will select one figure from the submitted manuscripts to use on the cover of the volume. If you have any questions about the Proceedings please send electronic mail to softconf@dao.nrc.ca or contact one of the editors. Sincerely, The Editors Dennis Crabtree (NRC/DAO/CADC) Bob Hanisch (STScI) crabtree@dao.nrc.ca hanisch@stsci.edu Jeannette Barnes (NOAO) jbarnes@noao.edu
