EGODATA Contents Version 1.11 10/20/95 Manifest In this release of the EGODATA, you should find the following files: README.TXT contents.hlp detector.FITS ds.correction.FITS ds_alc_mask.pl ds_alc_vig.FITS ds_distort.FITS ds_ea_quad0.FITS ds_ea_quad1.FITS ds_ea_quad2.FITS ds_lex_mask.pl ds_lex_vig.FITS ds_lim.FITS ds_undistort.FITS hotspot.FITS install.hlp lw.correction.FITS lw.off.FITS lw_collresp.FITS lw_ea.FITS lw_lim.FITS lw_psf.FITS mkdataproducts.cl mw.correction.FITS mw.off.FITS mw_collresp.FITS mw_ea.FITS mw_lim.FITS mw_psf.FITS pipeline quaternion.FITS reference sca.correction.FITS sca_alc_mask.pl sca_alc_vig.FITS sca_distort.FITS sca_ea_quad0.FITS sca_ea_quad1.FITS sca_ea_quad2.FITS sca_ea_quad3.FITS sca_lex_mask.pl sca_lex_vig.FITS sca_lim.FITS sca_undistort.FITS scb.correction.FITS scb_alc_mask.pl scb_alc_vig.FITS scb_distort.FITS scb_ea_quad0.FITS scb_ea_quad1.FITS scb_ea_quad2.FITS scb_ea_quad3.FITS scb_lex_mask.pl scb_lex_vig.FITS scb_lim.FITS scb_undistort.FITS scc.correction.FITS scc_dag_mask.pl scc_dag_vig.FITS scc_distort.FITS scc_ea_quad0.FITS scc_ea_quad1.FITS scc_ea_quad2.FITS scc_ea_quad3.FITS scc_lim.FITS scc_tin_mask.pl scc_tin_vig.FITS scc_undistort.FITS sw.correction.FITS sw.off.FITS sw_ea.FITS sw_lim.FITS sw_psf.FITS tifdeadtime.FITS unfits.cl All files with the .FITS suffix are standard FITS format files. The *.pl files are pixel lists. All other files are simple ASCII text files. File Types Files with "sw", "mw", and "lw" prefixes describe the characteristics of the EUVE short, medium, and long wavelength spectrometer channels. Files with "ds", "sca", "scb", and "scc" prefixes describe the Deep Survey, Scanner A, Scanner B, and Scanner C imaging detectors. Files with "alc", "lex", "tin", "dag" contain information that is filter specific, where the filter types are Aluminum/Carbon, Lexan, Tin, and Dagwood, respectively. The "*.correction.FITS" file is a calibration IMAGE that corrects for instrument aberrations. The "*_distort.FITS" and "*_undistort.FITS files are calibration IMAGES that correct for instrument distortions. The "off.FITS" file is another calibration IMAGE that corrects for off-boresight aberrations. The "*_ea.FITS" files contain the effective areas for each spectrometer. The "*_ea_quadN.FITS" files contain the effective areas for the Nth "quadrant" of the ds and scanning detectors. The quadrants are numbered like so: DS SCANNER 2 1 | 3 --- ----- 1 0 | 2 --- 0 The "_lim.FITS" files contain the nominal operating conditions of the instrument. The "_psf.FITS" files contain the Point Spread Functions for each spectrometer. The "_collresp.FITS" files contain the collimator response functions. The "detector.FITS" file contains other information about the detectors. "hotspot.FITS" contains various hotspots that have been noticed on the spectrometers. The "quaternion.FITS" contains orientation information about the detectors. The "mkdataproducts.cl", "pipeline", and "reference" files describe the nominal processing. The "tifdeadtime.FITS" contains additional calibration information. Vignetting and filter mask information are contained in the files: [ds|sca|scb|scc].[alc|lex|tin|dag]_mask.pl filter mask [ds|sca|scb|scc].[alc|lex|tin|dag]_vig vignetting information Changes since last major EGODATA release: Scanner and DS effective area files are now included. The vignetting and distortion maps have been improved. The "lookzen" angle (formerly the "dsszen" angle) in the *_lim.FITS limits files has been changed to 107.41 degrees. This corresponds to an atmosphere height of 200km, for the purposes of determining earth blockage.
