IRAFINFO Service

General information about the IRAF software is available via e-mail from the IRAFINFO facility. To get started send the following message to the irafinfo server:

% mail irafinfo@iraf.noao.edu get iraf info

For a list of all the files available via the IRAFINFO facility send the request "index iraf" to irafinfo. We hope to add to the basic documentation available from this facility but at the moment the following items are available:

buglog -- Known bugs in the distributed software. faq -- IRAF frequently asked questions. info -- Description of the IRAF info service. intro -- Introductory information. newsgroups -- ADASS newsgroups information. orderform -- IRAF order form.

For example, to get a copy of the FAQ from the server you would send the message:

% mail irafinfo@iraf.noao.edu get iraf faq
