GUI Alternatives
Alternative GUIs for XImtool (ximtool-alt and ximtool-mag)
are available in the XImtool V1.1 release, these experimental GUIs feature
a magnifier panel and additional menubar buttons for commonly used functions.
Command-Line Options
Favorite XImtool command-line options
- -help will list all available options
- -invert will start with a black-on-white colormap
- -maxColors will limit the number of colors used
- -unixonly will only listen to unix sockets
Screen Cursor
Using Shift-MB2 will cause the crosshair cursor to appear in XImtool.
Keystroke Commands
Ctrl_Alt_Q in XImtool will quit, Ctrl_N will normalize the colormap and
Ctrl_I will invert it. Ctrl_- zooms out, Ctrl_+ zooms in, and Ctrl_C will
center the image in the frame.
Deleting Markers
You can delete Gterm markers (those funny green boxes that sometimes
show up after accidently dragging MB1) from an XImtool or Xgterm window by
putting the cursor in the box so it's highlighted and hitting the
Delete key.
